Beginning May 3, 2021 PCC will begin the process of replacing ALL greens due to the damage from February’s winter storm. This note is to update members and guest of what to expect over the next three months:
May 3 Continue spraying the greens to kill what live growth is still present.
May 12-13 Work on creating temporary greens.
May 14-16 The Club has rented 2 sod cutters to strip, and remove, the current sod from the existing greens.
May 17 Begin tilling and potentially reshape greens. Number 5, 6, & 9 are the main focus as far as potentially reshaping.
May 24 A professional applicator is scheduled to come and treat the soil to assure old growth is obsolete and/or sterile. This is a 10 to 14 day period to allow the chemical to absorb completely. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO STAY AWAY FROM THE GREENS. THE CHEMICAL IS VERY HAZARDOUS! THE COURSE, POTENTIALLY, COULD BE COMPLETELY CLOSED FOR THE FIRST 4 DAYS OF THIS PROCESS. WHEN THE COURSE IS REOPENED, THE GREENS WILL CONTINUE TO BE OFF LIMITS COMPLETELY.
June 4-6 Till 98 bags of organic fertilizer and soil builder. Smooth surfaces.
June 7 Company scheduled to sprig “TIFF EAGLE”. Water and fertilize consistently for 6-8 weeks.
July 30 Potentially begin using new greens.
All these dates are estimates and the process hinges around the weather. This timeline is a best guess scenario. Thanks for your patience and support!
